Blades Back on Home Ice for Game Three

ESTERO, Fla. – The 2024 Kelly Cup Playoffs presented by Germain Lexus and Scanlon Lexus continue through the season’s final series. The Florida Everblades and Kansas City Mavericks drop the puck in Game Three of the Kelly Cup Final on Wednesday, June 5 at 7:30 p.m. in Hertz Arena with the series tied 1-1. 

The Finals started with a bang in Game One, as Florida scored a season-high eight goals in an 8-1 result. Oliver Chau, Bobo Carpenter and Riese Zmolek all notched two goals. The Western Conference Champion Kansas City bound back though, taking game two 5-1 with the help of two empty-net goals in the dying minutes of the contest. Max Andreev found the back of the net twice in the K.C. victory. 

Chau leads the Everblades with four points (2g, 2a) in the Finals. Chau and Carpenter are tied for the team lead with 18 points each in the playoffs. Carpenter also leads the team with 10 postseason goals. Jeremy McKenna and Cole Coskey lead the Mavericks with three points in the Kelly Cup Finals, with McKenna also leading the team with 20 playoff points (10g, 10a).

The Everblades now return to the confines of Hertz Arena for Games Three, Four and Five. During the Kelly Cup Playoffs, Florida has accrued a 5-3 record on home ice, while going 8-4 on the road. The Blades haven’t played a home playoff game since Game Five of the Eastern Conference Finals against the Adirondack Thunder on May 25, marking an 11-day break between matchups in friendly territory. 

Over the past two seasons, Hertz Arena has seen five Kelly Cup Finals games – three in 2022 and two in 2023. With three games guaranteed in 2024, that number will jump to eight games in the past three years. To date, Hertz Arena has hosted 17 Finals meetings, with that number to increase to 20 by the end of the week.
