ESTERO, Fla. – The Florida Everblades are back in Hertz Arena for game three of the Eastern Conference Finals against the Adirondack Thunder after going 1-1 in Glens Falls. Puck drop for game three is set for Wednesday, May 22 at 7:30 p.m.
The series has been a low-scoring one so far, with only five tallies converted in the first two games. Florida took a 2-1 win behind two Mark Senden goals in Game One, but Adirondack stormed back with a 2-0 win in Game Two. Saturday marked the third time the Blades have been shutout in this postseason run – the first two being Games One and Four of the first round against Jacksonville.
Wednesday’s game will be the first time Florida plays a home game since Game Two against Orlando on May 4. The Everblades currently hold a 3-2 record at Hertz Arena this postseason, with the two losses coming in the opening round. When the Thunder visited Estero in February, the Blades took three consecutive games against their Northern rivals.
The Blades will play Games Three (May 22), Four (May 24), and Five (May 25) in front of our home fans. If needed, the series will return to the Empire State for Games Six and Seven. The winner of this series awaits the Western champion between the Kansas City Mavericks and Toledo Walleye.
While Florida looks to make its third consecutive Kelly Cup Final, Adirondack aims for the championship series for the first time in its history. The Thunder previously made the Eastern Conference Finals in 2018, but were eliminated in five games by the Everblades.
To honor our 2023 Kelly Cup Championship, fans are encouraged to wear Blue for all three home games during the third round!
