Johnson's Shutout Leads Blades to Victory Over Savannah

ESTERO, FL – Cam Johnson’s 33-save shutout compounded with a pair of goals from Logan Lambdin and Bobo Carpenter for a 4-0 Florida Everblades win over the Savannah Ghost Pirates.

Lambdin started the scoring with a power play goal off a faceoff midway through the first. Taking the puck right to the net off the draw pushed his goal scoring streak up to two games. 

In the second period, Carpenter and Lambdin combined for two goals in 40 seconds to give Florida some insurance for their lead. Carpenter buried a nice shot from the slot before Lambdin followed it up with a breakaway strike for his second of the game. 

With Johnson stopping everything coming his way, the win was secured in the third, polished off with an empty netter from Carpenter. Johnson got his third shutout of the season in the win while Jordan Papirny suffered a second-straight loss to the Everblades.

Following tonight’s results, the Everblades are now three points back of the Jacksonville Icemen for second in the South Division and two points ahead of the South Carolina Stingrays for third place.

Florida wraps up the set against Savannah Saturday, March 23 for Blackout Night.

This win, coupled with the South Carolina Stingrays’ OT loss to Orlando, eliminated Savannah from playoff contention.

Lambdin has goals in four of his last five games, including back-to-back multigoal games. 

Florida went 1/6 on the power play and killed off the Ghost Pirates’ only man advantage.
