ESTERO, Fla. – After an 11-goal evening last night that saw the Florida Everblades take a 7-4 victory, the team is back in action this afternoon against the Savannah Ghost Pirates. The Jan. 21 matchup begins at 3:00 p.m. at Enmarket Arena.
The Everblades found goals in every period of the game. Joe Pendenza and Sean Josling scored in the first. Savannah then stormed back in the second, scoring three unanswered goals to take a brief 3-2 lead. But Will Reilly and Oliver Chau halted the Ghost Pirates momentum, and gave the Everblades a 4-3 lead at the end of the middle frame. Cam Hausinger, Jordan Sambrook, and Joe Pendenza lit the lamp in the third to seal the game. Savannah forward Logan Drevitch scored a hattrick in the losing effort.
Saturday’s contest was a physical matchup, and both teams combined for 62 minutes of penalties issued.
Sunday’s game concludes a five-game series between the Everblades and Ghost Pirates that started last week at Hertz Arena. The Everblades hold a 3-1 lead in this series, and a 4-1 lead across this season. The Blades return home next week to take on the Atlanta Gladiators and the Greenville Swamp Rabbits.
