ESTERO, Fla – After falling to the Jacksonville Icemen on Wednesday night, the Florida Everblades continue their road trip on Friday, Dec. 22 against the Savannah Ghost Pirates. Puck drop from Enmarket Arena is set for 7:30 p.m.
In the Blades last game against the Icemen, Florida scored two goals 16 seconds apart to tie the game at three, but Jacksonville answered moments later with its fourth goal of the contest, making it a 4-3 finish. The defeat puts the Everblades on a two-game skid.
Savannah just played last night and fell 2-1 to the Orlando Solar Bears. Despite outshooting Orlando 42-23, Savannah could only find the back of the net once in the second period. That clash started a stretch of three games in three days for the Pirates. The loss moves Savannah to 9-13-4 through 26 games, putting the Ghost Pirates in sixth place of the South Division.
Vincent Marleau leads the Ghost Pirates with 28 points – 14 goals and 14 assists.
Friday’s matchup will be the first meeting of these two teams all season. Savannah will travel to Estero on Jan. 10 for the first home series of the new year. The Everblades and Ghost Pirates play five times in the month of January alone.
The Everblades continue their road trip tomorrow against the South Carolina Stingrays in North Charleston.
