ESTERO, Fla. –After the Florida Everblades took a 6-4 victory over the Greenville Swamp Rabbits last night in a ten-goal barnburner, the two teams return to the ice to play game two of the series. Puck drop on Dec. 29 is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at Hertz Arena.
Sean Josling, Andrew Fyten, Oliver Chau, Logan Lambdin, Bobo Carpenter, and Patrick Holway all scored to knock off the best team in the Eastern Conference. Fyten and Lambdin also added assists for two-point nights. In total, 11 Everblades tallied a point in the game – including starting netminder Cam Johnson, who recorded an assist on Holway’s empty netter.
Florida’s win over Greenville levels the season series at 2-2. The Swamp Rabbits won two out of three in November, when the two teams first played this year.
While the Swamp Rabbits still sit atop the conference with 40 points, they are 4-6 in their past ten games. Last week, Greenville lost three straight games for the first time this season.
Friday’s home game will be the final of 2023. The Everblades and Swamp Rabbits wrap up this three-game series in Greenville on New Year’s Eve to close out the calendar for good. The Blades won’t touch home ice again until Jan. 10 when the team hosts the Savannah Ghost Pirates.
