Blades Roll Over Gladiators in 6-2 Victory

A 60-minute effort allowed the Florida Everblades to roll past the Atlanta Gladiators with a strong 6-2 win in front of 5,653 raucous fans at Hertz Arena.

The Blades back end started the attack with goals from Patrick Holway and Will Reilly in the opening period. Atlanta scored two goals in 1:10 to bring the game to a tie after the first 20 minutes.

Cam Hausinger got things going again on the power play in the middle frame to regain the lead for Florida and Zach Tsekos scored later in the stanza to expand the Blades lead back to two goals. Bobo Carpenter grabbed one of his three assists on Tsekos’s goal, extending his point streak to six games.

Oliver Chau and Nathan Staios piled on more in the third to cap off the Everblades most dominant performance of the season. Florida extended their winning streak to a season-high three games while Atlanta has now dropped back-to-back games for the first time this season.

Florida outshot Atlanta 29-25 in the match. Cam Johnson grabbed his second straight win with a 23-save performance.

The Everblades duel with the Gladiators again Saturday night at 7:00 p.m. to celebrate Swampee’s birthday.
