ESTERO, Fla. – For the first time this season, the Everblades leave the state of Florida to take on the Greenville Swamp Rabbits for a three-game set. The first of those games gets going this Friday, Nov. 10 at 7:05 p.m. at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena.
The Everblades will be quick to put their first four home games in the rear-view mirror. Against the Orlando Solar Bears and Jacksonville Icemen, Florida had a 1-3 record in a dense stretch of hockey. In each of the three losses, the Blades conceded four goals, and were outscored 12-11 across the home stretch. Their only win came on Wednesday, when Evan Cormier put up 32 saves in a 4-0 shutout win over Orlando. Across the homestand, Joe Pendenza led the team with three goals: one in the loss to Jacksonville and two in the third game against Orlando.
Across the season, the Everblades hold a 2-1 record on the road, with two wins over the Solar Bears and a loss to the Icemen.
The Swamp Rabbits have hopped out to a red-hot start, sitting in third place in the Eastern Conference with a 5-1 record. Greenville is on a two-game winning streak, taking down the Savannah Ghost Pirates and Jacksonville, 2-1 and 3-2 respectively, last weekend. Leading the charge for the Rabbits has been forward Carter Souch, with five goals on the young season.
Friday marks the beginning of a three-game slate in a three-day span against the Swamp Rabbits.
