ESTERO, Fla. – After a convincing 4-0 win over Orlando on Wednesday night that saw a three-goal second period, and Evan Cormier earn the first Florida shutout of the season, the Everblades now shift their focus to game two of the set on Friday at 7:30 p.m. in Hertz Arena.
A scoreless first period didn’t slow down the start to the second, as Zach Tsekos, Bobo Carpenter and Sean Josling all scored within a 3:58 span to make it 3-0. Tsekos assisted on the Carpenter goal to give himself a two-point evening.
Then in the third period, it was Nathan Staios lighting the lamp to bring the score to 4-0. The goal was the first on the power play all season, as the Everblades had not found the back of the net on the previous 17 power-play opportunities. Adirondack now remains the only team in the ECHL to have not scored on the man advantage.
With the win, the Everblades move to 3-2 on the season, and 1-1 at Hertz Arena.
As for Orlando, Wednesday was a continuation of a tough stretch of games. Now on a three-game losing streak where they’ve only scored two goals, the Solar Bears are 1-3-1 with just three points through their first five games.
Friday’s matchup will be the first 239 Friday of the Season! On 239 Fridays, you can purchase 2 tickets for $39! Each ticket includes a customized menu option, either food or drinks, that will be different for each Friday game. Kids 12 and under also eat free in Breakaway Sports Pub!
