Estero, Fla. – The Florida Everblades again take the bus ride up to Orlando for a 7:00 p.m. puck drop against the Solar Bears on Thursday, October 26 at the Amway Center.
Florida finished last week with a 1-1 record after beating the Solar Bears 4-3 in a come-from-behind victory in a shootout. Mark Senden, Kamerin Nault, and Bobo Carpenter all lit the lamp for the season-opening victory. Two days later, the Everblades took on the Icemen in Duval County, and fell 3-1.
After tasting defeat at the hands of the Everblades, the Solar Bears traveled up to Charlestown for their second game of the year. Orlando dominated South Carolina in a 6-3 decision, in big part due to Patrick Newell and Steven Jandric. Newell tallied three assists, while Jandric added two goals and an assist of his own as the Solar Bears routed the Stingrays.
This is the final of three road clashes to start the season for the Everblades. Florida will host its home opener Saturday, October 28 against Jacksonville at 7:00 p.m. at Hertz Arena. The Everblades will hoist their third total, and second consecutive Kelly Cup banner to the rafters. In addition to the banner raising, Sweets in the Suites will be presented by Waste Pro Management, an LED Cup Giveaway will be presented by Michelob Ultra, and there will be a special pregame Tailgate Party with live music and bounce houses.
