ESTERO, Fla. – The Florida Everblades return to Hertz Arena to raise the club’s third championship banner ahead of a match against the Jacksonville Icemen on Saturday, October 28 at 7:00 p.m.
Florida won the 2023 Kelly Cup after sweeping the Idaho Steelheads in the Kelly Cup Finals last June. Florida also defeated the South Carolina Stingrays, the Icemen, and the Newfoundland Growlers on the path to another championship – all in six games.
Florida enters Saturday’s matchup with a 2-1 record after two wins against the Orlando Solar Bears and a loss against Jacksonville. Most recently, the Blades skated out of Amway Center with a 2-1 win over Orlando off a goal from Logan Lambdin late in the third, giving him a three-game point streak. Both Cam Johnson and Evan Cormier picked up a win in the crease on the trip, with Cormier making 43 stops in the close match Thursday night.
Jacksonville, meanwhile, is coming off a 4-1 win against Orlando last night. Last Saturday, the Icemen beat Florida 3-1 to open up their season with the win. Brendan Harris scored two goals and Christopher Brown had three points for Jacksonville in that game.
