Everblades Agree To Terms with Rookie Brett Davis

ESTERO, Fla. – Florida Everblades General Manager and Head Coach Brad Ralph announced the team has agreed to terms with rookie forward Brett Davis to a standard player contract for the 2023-24 season.

Davis, 24, joins the Everblades after two seasons in USports with the University of Manitoba. In 36 games with the Bisons, Davis scored 46 points with 20 goals and 26 assists.

The Oakbank, Manitoba native has extensive experience in major junior hockey. Between 2014 and 2020, Davis played 309 games in the WHL, amassing 200 points behind 93 goals and 107 assists. Davis’ most productive campaign came in 2017-2018, when he tacked up 58 points – lighting the lamp 25 times and dealing 33 assists.

A 2017 sixth-round draft pick by the Dallas Stars, Davis saw five games of AHL action with the Manitoba Moose in 2021, without scoring a point.

In January of 2023, Davis represented Canada at the 2023 FISU Winter World University Games, hosted in Lake Placid, NY. In seven games played, Canada never faltered, going 7-0 en route to a gold medal, and outscoring opponents 48-8. Davis led the Canadian side with seven goals and five assists – 12 points. That included a hattrick against Sweden in the group stage, and a goal against the United States in the gold medal game at historic Herb Brooks Arena.

The Everblades will begin the defense of the organization’s back-to-back Kelly Cup Championships on Thursday, October 19 with a road matchup against the Orlando Solar Bears. The 2023-24 home opener is slated for Saturday, October 28 with a 7:00 p.m. against the Jacksonville Icemen at Hertz Arena.
