BLADES HEAD TO ALLEN FOR FIRST TIME IN TEAM HISTORY

ALLEN, Tx. - The Florida Everblades will play in Credit Union of Texas Event Center for the first time in their history when they begin a three-game set against the Allen Americans on Wednesday, February 15 at 8:05 p.m.

The Everblades (27-11-4-3, 61 points) are in first place in the South Division, but are only two points ahead of fourth place. Allen (22-23-1-0) is tied for fourth place in the Mountain Division with the Rapid City Rush, who have an identical record.

Florida has only played Allen three times in their history, all at Hertz Arena. The last meeting came on February 10, 2018 when the Everblades bested the Americans in a 4-1 decision. Kyle Neuber is the only current Everblade who skated in that game.

The Everblades are coming off a three-game homestand that saw them go 1-1-0-1. Florida won the first game 2-1 over the Jacksonville Icemen, but followed that up with back-to-back 3-2 losses to the Orlando Solar Bears, with the latest setback coming at the end of a 14-round shootout.

Allen is returning from a three-game road trip against the Fort Wayne Komets. All three games saw lots of goals, with the Americans claiming victory in the first game 7-3 before falling 8-6 and 6-1 in the final two matchups.

Joe Pendenza is riding a four-game point streak for the Everblades. Jack Combs and Hank Crone are tied for second in points in the league with 60 each, placing them back of Newfoundland’s Zach O’Brien for the league lead.

Florida is 2-1-0-0 against the Americans in the all-time series.

Wednesday’s game will begin broadcasting live on FLO Hockey and ESPN Southwest Florida at 7:55 p.m.
