BLADES WELCOME GHOST PIRATES TO HERTZ ARENA FOR FIRST TIME EVER

ESTERO, Fla. - The Florida Everblades host the Savannah Ghost Pirates at Hertz Arena for the first time in history on Friday, January 20 at 7:30 p.m.

Florida has faced the Ghost Pirates three times already in Savannah’s inaugural season, winning two of those matchups. Most recently, the Everblades took a 6-2 win over their new South Division rivals on December 9.

Savannah currently sits in seventh in the South Division, 18 points behind first place Florida. In their most recent match, the Ghost Pirates rallied with three third-period goals to force overtime against the South Carolina Stingrays, but surrendered the extra point in a 4-3 OT loss.

Florida, meanwhile, is coming off back-to-back wins over the Stingrays, 4-2 on Saturday and then 3-1 on Sunday afternoon. Joe Pendenza is currently on a six-game point streak, with three goals and five assists in that span.

Cam Johnson returns to the Everblades after representing the team at the 2023 ECHL All Star Classis. Johnson allowed the least number of goals (13) of any netminder in the games at his first All Star appearance.
