The Everblades currently hold second place in the South Division and are just one point behind the first place Atlanta Gladiators (12 pts).  Atlanta has played in four more games than the Everblades this season, and will play host to Florida on Tuesday and Friday of next week.   Norfolk will close out its down-and-back trip to Florida this evening, and will be looking to take two points home with them.

About Last Night’s Game:  Florida exploded for three goals in the second period to pull away from the Norfolk Admirals and take the game 4-1…Both Josh Wesley and Michael Ferrantino scored their first professional goals in the game… Daniel Altshuller earned the win in goal stopping 18 of 19 shots.

About the Everblades:  Forward Matt Berry finished last night’s game with a goal and an assist to extend his point scoring streak to six games.  Berry has recorded a point in all six games played this season and leads the team in scoring with nine points (2g, 7a)…The Everblades have not allowed more than 22 shots against in each of the last three games (20, 22, 19).

About the Admirals:  Nick MacNeil and Aaron Harstad lead Norfolk with three points each…Despite a tough second period in last night’s game,  goaltender Eetu Laurikainen turned aside 13 of 14 shots in the opening frame.  Former Everblade Connor Knapp came in relief later in the game and stopped all 14 shots faced.
