ESTERO, Fla. –The Florida Everblades will face the Reading Royals in a pair of rescheduled games this weekend to close out the regular season, with both matchups originally postponed earlier this year. Today’s Friday Night Hockey game will have a 7:30 p.m. puck drop at Hertz Arena.

While Florida has already secured the top spot in the South Division, the final two games still carry weight as the Blades prepare for a postseason run. With the ECHL playoffs just around the corner, the team looks to build momentum and fine-tune its play before the intensity ramps up.

Florida enters the matchup aiming to stay sharp on both ends of the ice, particularly with special teams and line chemistry playing a key role in postseason success. These final games also provide an opportunity for players to solidify their roles as the playoff roster begins to take shape.

The Everblades enter the matchup with an edge on special teams, converting at 18.1% on the power play (40/221) while killing off an impressive 87.9% of penalties (196/223).

The Royals are operating at 16.6% on the power play (39/235) and 83.8% on the penalty kill (207/247), giving Florida the advantage on both sides of special teams heading into the game.

The regular season wraps up Saturday night, with the final matchup against Reading set for a 7 p.m. start at Hertz Arena.
