ESTERO, Fla. – The Florida Everblades have announced the team's opening night roster ahead of their 28^th ECHL season.
 
The Everblades roster consists of 17 forwards, eight defensemen, and two goaltenders.
 
Forwards (17): Sam Stange, Logan Lambdin, Isaac Nurse, Craig Needham, Carson Gicewicz, Tarun Fizer, Oliver Cooper, Ben Brar, Oliver Chau, Kyle Penney, Kyle Betts, Reid Duke, Anthony Romano, Jesse Lansdell, Logan Will, Jett Jones, Nico Blachman
 
Defense (8): Sean Allen, Kade Landry, Jordan Sambrook, Hunter Sansbury, Zach Berzolla, Gianfranco Cassaro, Connor Doherty, Kurtis Henry
 
Goalie (2): David Tendeck, Cam Johnson
 
Florida has three players that qualify as veterans (Allen, Sambrook, Doherty) and five rookies (Stange, Sansbury, Penney, Henry, Will) on the opening night roster. Eight players – Stange, Fizer, Berzolla, Penney, Betts, Romano, Jones, and Johnson – are on American Hockey League contracts, all with the Blades’ AHL affiliate, the Springfield Thunderbirds. No players are on an NHL contract.
 
The Everblades has 16 players returning from last year’s squad, which does not include Berzolla or Blachman who have played with Florida in the past.
 
Florida’s season opens up on Friday, October 17 at 7:00 p.m. against the Orlando Solar Bears at the Kia Center.
 
One night later, the Everblades home opener sees Florida face the Solar Bears on Saturday, October 18 at 7:00 p.m. at Hertz Arena. Doors open for the home opener at 5:00 p.m. with the first 7,000 fans through the door receiving rally towels, courtesy of Lexus.
