ESTERO, Fla. – The Florida Everblades need to defeat the Trois-Rivières Lions in Game Six in the Eastern Conference Finals to keep their season alive. Game Six is at Hertz Arena on Tuesday, May 27 at 7:30 p.m.
Trois-Rivières took a 3-2 series lead over the Everblades with a 3-1 victory in Game Five on Saturday in Quebec. Oliver Chau scored Florida’s only goal in the loss on a power play, giving the Everblades five power play goals over their last three games. Anton Malmstrom had an assist on that goal, giving him a three-game assist streak.
Cam Johnson made 30 saves in the loss while Luke Cavallin stopped 20 on the other side for the win. Alex Beaucage leads Trois-Rivières with two goals and an assist so far in the series. The Lions have scored first in four of five games in this series.
This is the only the second time over the last three seasons the Everblades have faced elimination in a series. In the opening round last year, Florida rallied from a 3-1 series deficit to defeat the Jacksonville Icemen in seven games.
