ESTERO, Fla. – The Florida Everblades face the Trois-Rivières Lions in a pivotal Game Five in the Eastern Conference Finals on Saturday, May 24 at 3:00 p.m. with the series tied 2-2.
Florida dominated Game Four with a 4-0 win, getting goals from Kyle Neuber, Kyle Betts, Isaac Nurse, and Craig Needham. Betts and Needham scored their goals on the power play, giving Florida back-to-back games with two power play goals.
Cam Johnson made 30 saves for his second shutout in this year’s playoffs and the 13th of his postseason career. At the other end, Luke Cavallin lasted two periods before getting yanked after surrendering three goals on 17 shots against. Hunter Jones made five saves on six shots against the rest of the way.
Game Five is Florida’s first matinee playoff game since Game Two of last year’s opening round series against the Jacksonville Icemen. Florida won that game 2-1 in overtime with Matthew Wedman scoring the OT winner.
