ESTERO, Fla. – The Florida Everblades take a 2-0 series lead on the road to Duval County to continue their season against the Jacksonville Icemen on Wednesday, April 23 at 7:00 p.m.
Florida grabbed a pair of OT wins to open the series on home ice. Alex Kile scored the game winner in Game One, followed by Andrew Fyten scoring the OT goal the next night. These two victories are Florida’s first back-to-back playoff OT wins since 2023 with Game Six against the Newfoundland Growlers and Game One against the Idaho Steelheads in the Kelly Cup Finals.
Special teams have been the dominant story line in the first two games, with three power play goals and two shorthanded goals in the series so far. Both of Florida’s even strength goals were the OT winners.
The Everblades won three of four games last year in Jacksonville during the opening round. During the regular season, the Everblades and Icemen split four games, with both teams getting one win in overtime.
