ESTERO, Fla. – The Florida Everblades welcome the Toledo Walleye to Hertz Arena on Marvel Night Friday, March 28 at 7:30 p.m.
This is the first meeting between these two clubs since the 2022 Kelly Cup Finals. The Everblades won the series 4-1 with a 4-1 victory in Game Five at Hertz Arena to begin the club’s current run of success. Toledo has advanced to the Western Conference Finals in each of the last two seasons. Florida is 15-9-3-0 against Toledo all-time during the regular season.
This year, both Florida and Toledo have already clinched a playoff spot. The Everblades are one point behind the South Carolina Stingrays for first in the South Division and the ECHL, while the Walleye are first in the Central Division and third in the ECHL. Toledo is 11 points ahead of the Fort Wayne Komets for first place in the Central Division. Since moving to the Central Division, Toledo has never finished lower than second place.
Carson Gicewicz is on a nine-game point streak, including six goals in his last four games. Brandon Hawkins leads the ECHL in points this season with 82 (34 goals, 48 assists) – last season, Hawkins finished the year with the most goals (40) and points (93), winning the MVP Award, the first Walleye to ever win.
