ESTERO, Fla. – For just the second time in the season’s first 54 games, the Florida Everblades enter play having lost three straight games. The Blades look to get back in the win column after dropping the first two games of a three-game series against the South Carolina Stingrays, having fallen 4-3 in overtime on Wednesday and 6-2 on Friday. Friday night’s tilt was a three-hour contest that featured a combined 139 penalty minutes on 35 infractions.

The Blades’ 0-2-1-0 mark over the past three games finds the team in an uncharacteristic stretch over which the team has been outscored 16-8, allowing four or more goals in consecutive games for just the first time this season.

Despite the rough three-game run, Alex Kile enters Saturday’s series finale with the Stingrays having tallied assists in the first two games of the set, making him one of four Everblades with multiple points in the series. Over the Everblades’ three-game schneid, Kile (2A) is one of four players with multiple points, joining Colton Hargrove (1G, 2A), Colin Theisen (2G) and Carson Gicewicz (1G, 1A).

On the bright side, following the Everblades’ only other three-game losing streak during which the team went 0-1-2-0 to open February, Florida rattled off a season-best seven game winning streak from February 7-21, outscoring opponents 31-15.

After Saturday’s game, the Everblades will head north for a three-game series against the Norfolk Admirals, opening a stretch that sees seven of the next nine games played away from Hertz Arena. The three-game set in Virginia gets underway on Wednesday, March 5 and continues with contests on Friday, March 7 and Saturday, March 8. All three games in Norfolk will see the puck drop at 7:05 p.m.
