BLADES SET TO HOST STINGRAYS AFTER NARROW OVERTIME DEFEAT IN JAX

ESTERO, Fla. – Following back-to-back contests last weekend, the Florida Everblades will now face the South Carolina Stingrays tonight, December 19, at 7:30 p.m., on home ice for the first time since early November.

In their latest matchup against the Jacksonville Icemen, the Blades posted two goals in the third period from Oliver Chau and Marc-Andre Gaudet to tie the game but ultimately fell short in extra time.

Chau, who led the charge with a two-point performance, now sits at 18 points on the season, just one behind Logan Lambdin (19) and Colton Hargrove (20), all trailing Carson Gicewicz, who leads the Blades with 23 points.

Gaudet, the lone defenseman to record a point, has now totaled five points in just three games. He also contributed three assists in his debut with the Blades, helping on three separate goals.

On the other hand, South Carolina's Kyler Kupka and Micah Miller are tied for first with 20 points, followed closely by Charlie Combs and Austin Magera, who each have 18.

Similar to the Blades, the Stingrays are coming off a road loss, however, they had previously been on a six-game win streak that was snapped by that defeat.

Looking ahead, the Blades aim to capitalize on an important trend—each of the past three game outcomes has been shaped by the team that scored first. With the Stingrays sitting second in the South Division behind Florida, the Blades will aim to get on the board first and set the tone early.

The Stingrays currently sit seventh in overall team standings, ranking first in penalty killing and third on the power play, while the Blades are currently ranked 10th in penalty killing, 15th on the power play and first overall.
