ESTERO, Fla. – The Florida Everblades currently hold a 4-0-0 record to mark the start of back-to-back matchups against the South Carolina Stingrays in North Charleston, S.C., tonight November 1, at 7:05 p.m. and Saturday, November 2, at 6:05 p.m.
The Blades started the season on a high note after an OT victory against the Jacksonville Icemen and a clean sweep of the Atlanta Gladiators in a three-game series. Unlike the first two battles in The Swamp, the Blades played from behind for the majority of Wednesday’s 60-minute game against Atlanta, but that changed when former Gladiator Carson Gicewicz scored in the final minutes to level the playing field and send the game to overtime.
After six minutes of three-on-three hockey, Colton Hargrove netted a shot to give him his second point of the night and maintain their undefeated season.
Before returning to the swamp next week, the Blades will face the Stingrays who last season, finished eleventh in league standings overall, ranking 6th in penalty killing and 4th on the power play. In contrast, the Blades ranked second in penalty killing, 14th on the power play and eighth overall.
This Friday will mark the first time the teams meet since the 2023-24 regular season and since the Everblades secured their third consecutive Kelly Cup championship.
