ESTERO, Fla. – Back-to-back shutout wins have put the Florida Everblades up 3-1 against the Adirondack Thunder in the Eastern Conference Finals. The Blades are now just one win shy of a third consecutive Kelly Cup Finals appearance. They’ll have a chance to clinch that win in Game Five on Saturday, May 24 at 7:00 p.m. at Hertz Arena. 

Unlike Game Three, where almost all of the scoring was completed by the end of the first period, Game Four saw a much more spread-out span from Florida. One goal in the first, second, and third allowed the Blades to chip away at the Thunder. Meanwhile, Cam Johnson stood tall for his second consecutive shutout, stopping all 24 shots. The Everblades never notched consecutive shutouts in the regular season. 

Bobo Carpenter, Mark Senden, and Sean Josling tallied goals, while Josh Ho-Sang, Oliver Chau, Carpenter, Matt Wedman, and Ben Brar all secured assists. Mark Senden has notched four goals in this round alone, and six in the playoffs total. Ho-Sang, Wedman, Chau and Carpenter are all on two-game point streaks.

Adirondack looks to bounce back and force the series back to Glens Falls for a sixth game. The Thunder have never made the Kelly Cup Finals in their franchise’s history

The winner of this series awaits the winner of the series between the Kansas City Mavericks and Toledo Walleye. Kansas City holds a 3-1 lead in that set, after a 2-1 overtime win last night.
