ESTERO, Fla. – The Florida Everblades officially punched their ticket to the 2024 Kelly Cup Playoffs with a 2-1 win over the South Carolina Stingrays last night. The Blades will wrap up the regular season against the Stingrays tonight, April 13, at 7:00 p.m. at Hertz Arena. 

Florida joins Greenville and Jacksonville as the first three teams in the South Division to lock in playoff berths. Directly behind them, Orlando and South Carolina – tied at 84 points – will vie for the fourth and final playoff position. The Solar Bears fell 3-2 in overtime last night to the Reading Royals, those two teams play again tonight. 

With the playoffs appearance guaranteed, the Florida Everblades have made nine consecutive Kelly Cup Playoffs dating back to 2015 (2020 playoffs canceled due to COVID). 

Last night’s game was won by goals by Sean Josling in the second period, and a Jesse Lansdell breakaway effort out of the penalty box in the third period. Lansdell now has goals in back-to-back games just five games into his pro career. 

Saturday’s game will be the 11th meeting of the season between the Stingrays and Everblades. Florida holds a 5-4-1 record over their Palmetto State rivals. 

The final home game of the regular season will be our annual Pink In The Rink & Fan Appreciation Night, presented by Radiology Regional. Wear pink and join us for an incredible night to close out a remarkable regular season!

The Blades will host three home games in the first round of the playoffs on Wednesday, April 24, Friday, April 26, and Saturday, April 27 (if necessary).
