ESTERO, Fla. – After a productive weekend that saw the Florida Everblades notch three regulation wins, the team is back in action for the final three games of the regular season. The final stretch before the Kelly Cup Playoffs begins on Wednesday, April 10 against the Jacksonville Icemen. Game time for the midweek matchup at Hertz Arena is set for 7:30 p.m.
The Blades enter this contest on a three-game tear, including 4-1 and 2-0 wins over Atlanta and a 6-2 victory against Savannah. Despite these wins, Florida remains in fourth place in the South Division due to the efforts of Orlando and South Carolina. The Everblades are tied with the Solar Bears at 83 points but currently hold the advantage on tiebreakers. The Stingrays remain ahead of the Blades and Bears by one point.
While the Everblades have three games this week, Orlando only has two, giving Florida one more opportunity to seal a playoff position over their in-state rivals.
Jacksonville remains near the top of the division, now just one point shy of the top spot behind Greenville. The Icemen own an impressive 7-3 record in the last 10 games and have drastically closed the gap between themselves and the Swamp Rabbits in the recent games. However, Jacksonville is coming off back-to-back losses to Atlanta and South Carolina.
Wednesday’s game at Hertz Arena will be the first of three home games this week to close out the regular season. The Blades will next take on South Carolina for two games on Friday and Saturday.
