Everblades Face Off Against Icemen at Hertz

ESTERO, Fla. – The Florida Everblades return home to Hertz Arena for the first of two games against the Jacksonville Icemen. Puck drop is set for 7:30 p.m. for the Mar. 29 clash. 

The Everblades are coming off a 4-2 loss to the Orlando Solar Bears on Monday night in Central Florida. Orlando tallied two goals in the second and third periods each to pull away and seal the win on home ice to help narrow an already claustrophobic playoff race. Sean Josling scored the Everblades’ two goals in the defeat. 

Jacksonville is also coming from a game against Orlando, but this one would be a win for the Icemen. The Solar Bears scored the final two goals of the game but were unable to mount a comeback. The final score read 5-4 in favor of the Icemen. Jacksonville has now won five of its last six games, further cementing its second-place spot in the division. 

With just eight games remaining for both teams in the regular season, the Icemen have 84 points in second place, while the Everblades are in third place of the South with 77 points – tied with South Carolina. 

After this weekend’s series between the Everblades and Icemen, these two teams will meet one more time at Hertz Arena on Wednesday, April 10 at 7:30 p.m.
