ESTERO, Fla. – From one makeup game to another, the Florida Everblades continue a busy March with another trip to Central Florida to face off against the Orlando Solar Bears. Game time on Mar. 18 is set for 7:00 p.m. at the Kia Center. This is a makeup game for a contest previously scheduled in December that was postponed due to ice conditions.
The Blades are coming off an impressive 6-3 win over the South Carolina Stingrays on Saturday night. That game was a rescheduling of the Dec. 23 game that also had to be pushed back for issues with the playing surface. Six different goal scorers found the back of the net for the Blades and clinched a victory 84 days after the puck was first dropped.
Unlike Saturday’s win, tonight’s game will begin with full-time on the clock, as the game was postponed before any action could occur.
Both Florida and Orlando are coming off wins against South Carolina. Down 5-1 at the start of the third, the Solar Bears came back to tie it with four unanswered goals in the third period. Alex Frye then completed the improbable comeback in overtime to seal a 6-5 win for the Bears.
The Everblades and Solar Bears will also meet next Monday, Mar. 25, at the Kia Center.
