ESTERO, Fla. – Florida Everblades General Manager and Head Coach Brad Ralph announced that the Florida Everblades have acquired forward Jimmy Soper from the Rapid City Rush in exchange for forward Brett Davis.
Soper, 28, is in his fifth season in the ECHL. He began his career with the Greenville Swamp Rabbits in 2019, then followed it up with three seasons split between the Tulsa Oilers and the Rush. This season, Soper has seven goals and 16 assists in 55 games in Rapid City. Overall, the Waterloo, Ontario native has 46 goals, 73 assists, and 238 penalty minutes across 219 games in the ECHL.
Soper entered professional hockey in 2017-18 with the FHL’s Danville Dashers. Prior to turning pro, the 6’ 1” forward played one season at Wilfred Laurier University in his hometown following a four-year Canadian junior hockey career across three leagues.
The left-shot forward is expected to join the Everblades ahead of their matchup against the Jacksonville Icemen on Wednesday, March 6 at 7:30 p.m.
