ESTERO, Fla. – Hot off the back of a 3-1 win on Wednesday night, the Florida Everblades are back at Hertz Arena for game two of a three-game set against the Worcester Railers. Puck drop on Friday, Feb. 23 is set for 7:30 p.m. in Estero.
Involved early and often in Florida’s win on Wednesday was Oliver Chau. The topliner was involved in every single goal the Blades scored, with one goal and two assists. Sean Josling and Joe Pendenza also earned multi-point nights with a goal and an assist each. The three Everblades goals were spread evenly across the games, with one being potted in each period. In net, Cam Johnson stopped 23 of the 24 pucks sent his way.
Worcester’s lone goal came in the second off the stick of Jacob Pivonka.
The win gives the Everblades their 59th point of the 2023-24 campaign and helps affirm their position at fourth place in the division. Florida is three points clear of Orlando in fifth place in the South.
Tonight’s game will be the penultimate matchup against North Division opposition this season. After Saturday’s matchup, the Everblades will only have South Division hockey for the remainder of the calendar. Friday will also be game 50 of this season, as the empire looks to strike back for a third consecutive Kelly Cup.
