ESTERO, Fla. – After a brief hiatus from the All-Star break, the Florida Everblades are ready to take on the second half of the ECHL season. Next on the schedule are the Savannah Ghost Pirates for two games on the road. The first of those games is scheduled for Jan. 20 at Enmarket Arena, puck drop is at 7:00 p.m.
The Blades and Ghost Pirates most recently met at Hertz Arena for three games last week, where Florida took two of the three. Between then and now, the entire Savannah team, and Nathan Staios for the Everblades took part in the ECHL All-Star game earlier this week. In the last matchup between these two sides, the Everblades took a 3-0 win on Hispanic Heritage Night. Saturday’s game will be the fourth consecutive matchup between these two sides.
Florida currently sits in fifth place of the south division with 39 points, while Savannah is right below them with 31 points in sixth place. The Blades are just one point below the South Carolina Stingrays, and a playoff position. Florida holds the 3-1 advantage in the season series over Savannah.
The Everblades and Ghost Pirates play back-to-back games this weekend, as game two of this series will be played on Sunday, Jan. 21 at 3:00 p.m.
