ESTERO, Fla. – The Florida Everblades and South Carolina Stingrays continue their three-game series with game two on Friday, Dec. 8 at 7:30 p.m. at Hertz Arena. South Carolina took a dramatic 4-3 comeback win over Florida in game one on Wednesday.
Despite the Everblades entering the third period up 3-1, the Stingrays marched back with three goals in the final 6:58 of regulation to shock the home crowd. The first of those goals came from a power play.
South Carolina’s Austin Magera and Johnny Evans each had multi-point games. Magera tallied a goal and an assist while Evans dished out two assists.
For Florida, it was Tommy Apap, Riese Zmolek, and Oliver Chau finding the back of the net.
Wednesday’s game was a clean affair on both sides of the puck, with only three penalties being called. The first was a Josh Thrower slashing call in the first period. The last two were from the Everblades in the third period; Zach Uens for holding the stick, and Aiden Sutter for high-sticking.
After regulation and overtime losses in Adirondack, Wednesday was the Everblades’ third consecutive defeat. On the flip side, the Stingrays have won five in a row.
