ESTERO, Fla – The Florida Everblades finish their road trip with one last game before the Christmas break, facing off with the South Carolina Stingrays for the fourth time this season.
All three prior meetings this season came at Hertz Arena - the Stingrays took two of three games, including a 2-1 OT win in the most recent meeting on Florida’s teddy bear toss night. Rookie star Austin Magera scored the winner 19 seconds into overtime that night.
Florida won their last game with a 4-2 victory over the Savannah Ghost Pirates last night. Oliver Chau, Joe Pendenza, and Patrick Holway all had multi-point evenings. Chau now has six points in his last two games.
South Carolina won in overtime last night against the Jacksonville Icemen 3-2 on the road. Patrick Harper’s second goal of the game was the winner as the Stingrays pushed their winning streak up to five games. They are tied with the Toledo Walleye as the hottest team in the ECHL entering the break.
