ESTERO, Fla. – The Florida Everblades begin their road trip three days later than expected when they face off with the Jacksonville Icemen on Wednesday, December 20 at 7:00 p.m.
Florida expected to start the road trip on Sunday in Orlando, but their match against the Solar Bears was postponed due to unsafe ice conditions caused by a power outage at Amway Center. It was the first time an Everblades game was postponed since 2021.
Jacksonville, meanwhile, saw a modest two-game winning streak come to an end on Saturday in a 3-2 loss to the South Carolina Stingrays. Icemen forward Christopher Brown was named as the player of the week for his play over last week’s action, scoring four goals and adding three helpers in the club’s three games over the past week.
The Icemen have won all three meetings against Florida this season, including two wins in Jacksonville. In the most recent meeting, Riley Fiddler-Schultz scored the OT winner in a 2-1 overtime win over the Blades.
Florida goes from Jacksonville to Savannah on Friday, followed by South Carolina on Saturday.
