ESTERO, Fla – The Florida Everblades say goodbye to the warm weather of Southwest Florida, and travel up north for a non-divisional series against the Adirondack Thunder. Game one of the three-game set is Wednesday, Nov. 29 at Cool Insuring Arena for a 7:00 p.m. puck drop.
The Everblades enter the match after conceding a 2-1 overtime loss last week to the Jacksonville Icemen. Oliver Chau was the lone Blade goal scorer. Despite the unlucky finish to that game, Florida has still won four of its last five, and is on a six-game points streak. That stretch of consistent play has the Everblades in fourth place in the division after Thanksgiving with a 7-5-2 record.
The Thunder are in a similar spot to the Blades, with a 7-4-2 record putting them in fifth place in the north division. Two of those losses came in Adirondack’s most recent series against Worcester, where the Thunder fell 4-3 and 4-2. Adirondack winger Yushiroh Hirano potted two goals across the two games.
This upcoming series marks the first time the Everblades take on an opponent outside the South division this season. However, the Thunder will be in Estero for a three-game series from Feb. 7-10 later this season. Two weeks later, another north division team, the Worcester Railers visits Florida for three games between Feb. 21-24.
