Blades Welcome Gladiators to Hertz

ESTERO, Fla. – The Florida Everblades have one of their toughest tests of the young season this weekend when the Atlanta Gladiators roll into town for two games. The first of those clashes is Friday, Nov. 17 at 7:30 p.m. at Hertz Arena

The Everblades should feel confident entering Friday’s matchup after two straight wins, one against the Greenville Swamp Rabbits, 5-4, and the other against the Orlando Solar Bears, 4-1. Those victories mark the first time this season the Everblades have earned two consecutive wins, and lift Florida to a 5-5 record. Across those two games, it was Bobo Carpenter leading the way with three goals. Carpenter now has a point in each of the last five contests. 

The Gladiators had a historic start to the season, jumping out to an 8-0 record to start the campaign. However, in its most recent game, Atlanta fell to division-leading Greenville 2-1, snapping the streak and posting the first loss of the year on the board. In their nine games so far this season, the Gladiators have scored a division-best 40 goals, and only allowed a division-best 19 goals. Micah Miller has contributed seven of those goals himself for Atlanta. 

Friday’s matchup will be the first meeting between the Gladiators and Everblades this season. Last season, Florida tied the season series against Atlanta 5-5.
