GREENVILLE, S.C. – On the back of a 5-1 loss to the Greenville Swamp Rabbits last night, the Florida Everblades aim to level the series tonight at 7:05 p.m. at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena.
The loss last night was a result of an explosive first period for the Swamp Rabbits, in which they scored four goals in an 8:14 span. The third and fourth goals, tallied by Colton Young and Tanner Eberle, we scored shorthanded on the same penalty kill less than a minute apart.
Bobo Carpenter would score the only Florida goal in the third to make it a three-goal game, but a Greenville empty-netter would create the 5-1 final.
The Everblades, desperate to claw back in the game, sent 41 shots on Swamp Rabbit goalie Jacob Ingham across the night, where he turned aside 40.
Florida now sits at 3-5 on the season and is on a three-game slump dating back to Friday of last week against Orlando. Last night’s defeat was the second loss of the season on the road for the Everblades.
The Blades look to even things up tonight before the matinee rubber match tomorrow afternoon at 3:05 p.m.
