Joe Pendenza Returns To Everblades

ESTERO, Fla. – Everblades General Manager and Head Coach Brad Ralph announced the Florida Everblades have signed forward Joe Pendenza for the 2023-24 season.

Pendenza, 32, begins his fifth season with the Florida Everblades, making him the longest tenured Everblade currently playing in southwest Florida. The Wilmington, Massachusetts, native led Florida in points last season with 62 points (24 goals, 38 assists) in 63 games. In the playoffs, his strong play continued with seven goals and nine assists in 20 games en route to the Kelly Cup, the second of his Everblades career.

Pendenza, who has served as an alternate captain for Florida over the past two seasons, has suited up for the Everblades in 228 games in his career. With 82 goals and 122 assists for 204 points with the club, he is one of the most important players in recent team history. Entering this season, Pendenza ranks seventh in all-time assists and points, and ninth in all-time goals for the franchise.

The centerman began his professional career with the AHL’s Milwaukee Admirals in 2014-15. Prior to joining the Blades, Pendenza played for the Admirals, Cleveland Monsters, and Manchester Monarchs in the AHL, and the Cincinnati Cyclones, Idaho Steelheads, and the Monarchs (after they swapped leagues with the Ontario Reign) in the ECHL. Overall, he has played 545 professional games with 139 goals, 191 assists, and 330 points in his career.

Before turning pro, Pendenza spent four seasons playing at UMass-Lowell. He helped the club win back-to-back Hockey East titles in 2013 and 2014.

The Everblades’ home opener is on Saturday, October 28 at 7:00 p.m. against the Jacksonville Icemen. Before the game, the back-to-back Kelly Cup Champions will send a Kelly Cup banner to the rafters for a second straight season, commemorating the club’s third title.
