ESTERO, Fla – The back-to-back Kelly Cup Champions Florida Everblades return to the ice later this week for two preseason games against the Orlando Solar Bears. The two contests will be on Thursday, October 12 and Friday, October 13 with both puck drops at 7:30 pm.
The Everblades opened training camp this week at Hertz Arena, meaning it will be a quick turnaround for the team before its first games of the season.
“We’re trying to get the new players comfortable with out style, our philosophies, the Xs and Os part of it,” Ralph said on episode one of Swamp Talk on Monday. “And then from there you’re just trying to build some chemistry. Who plays well, who could play well with who, and trying to sort that out in the brief moments of practice.”
Last season, the Everblades finished 6-5-3 against the Solar Bears. Orlando finished sixth in the South Division and failed to qualify for the postseason for the fourth consecutive year.
After the pair of preseason games, Florida opens its regular season on the road against Orlando on October 19. The Everblades raise their third championship banner on October 28 for the home-opening matchup against the Jacksonville Icemen.
