EVERBLADES AGREE TO TERMS WITH TWO DEFENSEMEN

ESTERO, Fla. – General Manager and Head Coach Brad Ralph announced the Florida Everblades have agreed to terms with defensemen Tanner Brown and Aidan Sutter.

Brown, 20, enters pro hockey after spending parts of six seasons in the WHL. Drafted 24th overall in the 2017 WHL Bantam Draft by the Vancouver Giants, the left-shot defenseman played 223 total WHL games with the Giants, Winnipeg ICE, Red Deer Rebels, and Regina Pats.

Across those 223 games, Brown tallied 14 goals, 60 assists, and 135 penalty minutes. His best season was last year – in 63 games between the Rebels and the Pats, the Kelowna, BC local scored four goals and 29 assists for 33 points.

The six-foot, 181-pound blueliner also played 22 playoff games in the WHL, getting seven assists in those games. His longest run lasted 15 games with the Winnipeg ICE, going to the Eastern Conference Finals before losing to the eventual champion Edmonton Oil Kings in five games.

Sutter, 20, begins his pro hockey career after spending the past four seasons with the WHL’s Everett Silvertips. The Kamloops, BC native scored 11 goals and grabbed 49 assists for 60 points in 183 games with Everett.

The 5’ 11”, 163-pound defenseman also picked up six assists in 11 playoff games.

The Everblades will begin the defense of the organization’s back-to-back Kelly Cup Championships on Thursday, October 19 with a road matchup against the Orlando Solar Bears. The 2023-24 home opener is slated for Saturday, October 28 with a 7:00 p.m. puck drop against the Jacksonville Icemen at Hertz Arena.
