EVERBLADES SEEK SECOND WIN IN JACKSONVILLE

JACKSONVILLE, Fl. – The Florida Everblades can take a 2-0 series lead with a win against the Jacksonville Icemen in Game Two of the South Division Finals on Sunday, May 7 at 5:00 p.m at Vystar Veterans Memorial Arena.

Florida beat Jacksonville 5-2 in Game One and limited the Icemen to just 19 shots in the match. Blake Winiecki scored twice in the victory to lead the way for Florida.

John McCarron, Sean Josling, and Joe Pendenza also scored for Florida in the win. Josling is in a tie for the most goals in the playoffs with five so far. Nine different players found the score sheet in Game One, led by the second line of Winiecki, McCarron, and Oliver Chau who combined for seven points.

Cam Johnson stopped 17 of 19 shots for the Everblades while Olof Lindbom made 25 saves on 30 shots for Jacksonville.

Christopher Brown and Derek Lodermeier scored the Icemen goals in Game One.

Both teams were scoreless on the power play – it was the first playoff game Florida has won without scoring a goal with a man advantage.

Florida has scored the opening goal in six of their seven playoff games so far. The Everblades have won six consecutive game ones dating back to last season.

Game Two can be enjoyed live on FLO Hockey and ESPN Southwest Florida starting at 4:50 p.m.
