EVERBLADES RETURN HOME WITH CONTROL OF SERIES

ESTERO, Fla. – The Florida Everblades come back to Hertz Arena with a 2-0 series lead in the South Division Finals against the Jacksonville Icemen. Florida can take a 3-0 series advantage with a victory in Game Three on Wednesday, May 10 at 7:30 p.m.

The Everblades won a back-and-forth Game Two 4-3 thanks to Joe Pendenza’s late goal in the third and Cam Johnson’s 40-save performance. Pendenza has scored the game winning goal in two of the Blades last three games and he is tied for second in playoff points with 11 so far this year. Johnson’s effort ties his high in playoff saves from last year’s playoffs when he made 40 stops in a 3-2 OT win in Game Four of the Kelly Cup Finals against the Toledo Walleye.

Sean Josling, Oliver Chau, and Logan Lambdin also scored goals for the Everblades. Josling is now first in ECHL goal scoring with six goals in the postseason. Florida scored a goal in the final three minutes of each period in the game.

Matheson Iacopelli, Ben Hawerchuk, and Jacob Panetta scored the Icemen’s goals. Former Everblades goaltender Parker Gahagen had 24 saves in the loss, his first playoff game against his old team.

Florida scored once on the power play in two tries while Jacksonville went scoreless in three attempts with the man advantage. Josling scored Florida’s power play goal and is tied for second in the ECHL in power play goals with three.

The Everblades have scored the first goal in seven of eight games in the postseason.

The puck drops at 7:30 and the Hump Day deals last all game long – enjoy three-dollar hot dogs and three dollar Bud Light drafts all night.
