FLORIDA FACES GROWLERS ON BEACH NIGHT

ESTERO, Fla. –  The Florida Everblades and Newfoundland Growlers finish off their three-game set Saturday, March 25 at 7:00 p.m. for Beach Night, sponsored by Kona Big Wave and Molly Moo’s. 

Florida (34-19-4-4) slipped to fourth place in the South Division following last night’s action, but still sit within two points of first place in the division lead. Newfoundland (42-19-2-0) has already clinched a playoff spot and have a ten-point lead on the Reading Royals for first place in the North Division. 

The Everblades took the first game of this series with a 4-2 win on Wednesday before Newfoundland responded with a 3-0 win in the second game. Andrew Fyten scored the game winner in the opening game, while Dryden McKay answered back with his first pro shutout two days later with a 37-save performance. 

Florida has outshot the Growlers in both games and have outshout their opponent in four straight games. The Everblades are looking to take the rubber match before heading on the road for five of their next six games. 

After tonight’s game, Newfoundland will go to Norfolk for three games against the Admirals to finish their six-game road swing. 

The first 1,000 fans through the doors at Hertz Arena will receive a free Everblades sun bucket hat, courtesy of Kona Big Wave. Doors open at 6:00 p.m.
