EVERBLADES WELCOME GROWLERS TO HERTZ ARENA

ESTERO, Fla. –  The Florida Everblades get set for a tough week of hockey against the Newfoundland Growlers at Hertz Arena, beginning Wednesday, March 22 at 7:30 p.m. 

Florida (33-18-4-4) currently reside in fourth place in the South Division, but are only three points behind first place South Carolina with two games in hand. The Growlers (41-18-2-0) have already clinched a playoff spot and sit in first place in the North Division. 

The Everblades return to Estero after splitting a two-game set against the Trois Rivieres Lions in Quebec. Florida won the first game 7-5 last Friday before narrowing losing a 2-1 match the next afternoon. Blake Winiecki scored a hat trick in the victory on Friday while Andrew Fyten scored in both games. 

Newfoundland clinched a playoff spot in a 5-4 shootout victory over the Adirondack Thunder. The Growlers became the fourth team in the ECHL to clinch a playoff spot. Four of their last five games have gone in to extra time, with the Thunder winning three of them. 

This game is the start of a six-game road trip for Newfoundland, which will bring the Growlers to Norfolk after three games against the Everblades. 

The puck drops at 7:30 p.m. but the Hump Day deals last all game long. Enjoy three dollar Bud Light drafts and three dollar hot dogs all night.
