EVERBLADES START CRUCIAL SERIES AGAINST SOUTH CAROLINA

ESTERO, Fla. –  The Florida Everblades begin a paramount three-game series against the South Carolina Stingrays at Hertz Arena on Wednesday, March 8 at 7:30 p.m. 

Florida (30-16-4-4) is one point behind South Carolina (32-17-4-1) in the South Division standings. This week’s set has the potential to be a six-point swing in either direction. 

The Everblades enter Wednesday’s game on a four-game winless streak off a tough rough trip to start the month. On Friday, the Everblades fell 6-3 in Orlando against the Solar Bears. After that loss, Florida was upended on Saturday and Sunday by the Savannah Ghost Pirates, 3-2 (SO) and 4-3 respectively.  

The Stingrays last played on Sunday – Orlando rolled into the North Charleston Coliseum and crushed South Carolina 7-2. That loss comes after a three-game winning streak against the Atlanta Gladiators. South Carolina scored 23 goals in those three games, most notably with a 10-1 slaughter of Atlanta last Friday.  

Florida has won all five games against the Stingrays this season, most recently off a Joe Pendenza OT winner in a 2-1 win on January 28 at Hertz Arena. Every game except for one in the season series has been decided by one goal. 

Brad Morrison enters action Wednesday on a three-game point streak, while Andrew Fyten scored his first ECHL goal on Saturday. 

The game starts at 7:30 p.m. and the hump day deals, featuring $3 hot dogs and Bud Light drafts, last all game long.
