ESTERO, Fla. – The Florida Everblades face off with the Trois Rivieres Lions at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 18 to finish off a quick two-game trip to Canada.
Florida (33-17-4-4) sit in second place in the South Division, two points back of the Jacksonville Icemen for first place. The Lions, meanwhile, have lost three straight games (22-35-2-0) and are 19 points out of a playoff spot in the North Division.
The Everblades won a wild matchup against Trois Rivieres the previous night, taking a 7-5 decision against the Lions. Blake Winiecki scored a hat trick – his first as an Everblade – and Cam Johnson got his 50th win in his time in Florida.
Logan Lambdin and Sean Josling both made their Everblades debuts in the win and both scored their first goal with the new team. Lambdin scored on a nice wrist shot from the slot while Josling buried the empty netter to seal the victory.
For the Lions, forward William Lemay impressed in his ECHL debut, picking up a goal and two assists.
This was Florida’s first road win since February 15, ending a five-game winless streak.
