ALLEN, Texas –  The Florida Everblades and Allen Americans will lock horns for the second of a three-game set Friday night at 8:00 p.m. inside Credit Union of Texas Event Center.

On Wednesday, the Everblades erupted for eight goals, one off their season high, to knock off the Americans 8-5 in the first-ever game between the clubs on Lone Star State ice.

While Allen’s Colton Hargrove posted a hat trick on Wednesday, no less than 12 different Everblades factored into the scoring. Xavier Cormier became the 21st Everblade – and first in two years – to register four assists in game. Brad Morrison and Kody McDonald scored two goals apiece. For McDonald, the goals were his first of the season. Blake Winiecki added three assists, Joe Pendenza extended his point streak to five games and Kobe Roth scored a goal for the third straight contest.

The interconference rivals have met four times in series history with the Everblades holding a 3-1 series advantage and a three-game winning streak.

On the season, the Everblades are currently 3-0 versus the West and have outscored Western Conference opponents 15-5.

In the all-time series against Allen, Florida is 3-1 with all three games played in Estero. Prior to this season, the Everblades posted a 2-0 mark on February 9-10, 2018, taking a two-game set by a combined 8-1 margin, while Allen won the first-ever meeting of the teams by a 3-2 count on January 25, 2017.

After Friday’s game, the series finale is slated for Saturday night at 8:00 p.m. The Everblades will return to Hertz Arena on Wednesday, February 22 to open a three-game series against the Kansas City Mavericks at 7:30 p.m. Fans should plan to take advantage of the ever-popular Hump Day Deals and pick up $3.00 Bud Light 16 oz. drafts and $3.00 hot dogs.
