ESTERO, Fla. - The Florida Everblades welcome the Kansas City Mavericks back to Hertz Arena for a Friday night tilt on February 22 at 7:30 p.m.
The Everblades (29-13-4-3, 61 points) are three points behind the Jacksonville Icemen for first place in the South Division with a game in hand. Kansas City (22-20-6-0) sit third in the Mountain Division.
Florida defeated the Mavericks 4-3 on Wednesday to start this set. Captain Ben Masella scored twice and notched the primary assist on Joe Pendenza’s game-winning goal scored with 3:20 remaining in the game.
Nathan Staios also scored for Florida in the win, his first goal at Hertz Arena this season. Evan Fitzpatrick picked up the win for the Everblades, making 19 saves for his eighth victory of the year.
No player for Kansas City had more than one point in the game.
Florida stopped a two-game skid with the win, while Kansas City has now lost three straight games.
