GAME NOTES

ESTERO, Fla. -  The Florida Everblades (6-2-0-0) wrap up the second half of a back-to-back against the Orlando Solar Bears (4-2-0-0) today at the Amway Center in Orlando. Sunday’s game also marks the end of a three-game stretch against the Solar Bears. 

Last night, Michael Huntebrinker scored his third power-play goal of the season. Hunterbrinker leads the league in power-play goals, and now has points in each of his last four games. 

Several other Blades are riding streaks heading into today’s matchup. Forward Cameron Hebig has registered an assist in three straight games, while forwards Myles Powell and Levko Koper have both scored in back-to-back contests.  

For Florida, Both Powell and defenseman Matt Petgrave will be chasing their 100th professional point on Sunday against the Solar Bears. Powell has seen time with five professional teams since coming out of the Rochester Institute of Technology in 2018. The 26-year-old was named to the ECHL All-Rookie Team after recording 31 goals and 35 assists with the Cincinnati Cyclones in 2018-19. Petgrave also received recognition in 2018-19 in the form of an All-ECHL First Team selection after posting eight goals and 32 assists with the Brampton Beast. 

The Blades penalty kill continues to impress, and lead the league at 97.1%. Last night against Orlando, goaltender Cam Johnson and the specialty unit stopped all six power-play opportunities for the Solar Bears.
